Bloodstream City

Manifesto.

  • Bloodstream City is the home of Brian Martinez, writer of Science Fiction, Horror, Crime, or what some call more generally Dark Fiction. He was born and raised on Long Island, New York where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Natalia. Brian attended Long Island University where he earned his degree in Film by writing a bunch of strange films in which people died. After he left school, Brian attempted to have his work represented by an agent. After amassing a respectable collection of rejection notices for his refrigerator, he decided to self-publish and let the world come crawling to him. When that took longer than he expected, he briefly considered marketing himself as "Worst-Selling Author Brian Martinez", but to his disappointment sales picked up just enough to negate the legitimacy of that claim. Brian has been a one hour photo technician, a restaurant host, a vitamin salesman, a store manager and a bank teller.
  • The purpose of Bloodstream City is to be a link between reader and author. We operate under the belief that novels have a place in the new media. They can be as involving as music, as movies, as television, as videogames. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses but none is more important than the other. Novels should be enjoyed. They shouldn't feel like punishment or homework.
  • Email is welcome. All will be answered.
